Background: Apparition was a short-lived arthouse film company that often distributed its films through River Road Entertainment or Sony Pictures Entertainment subsidiaries (although all films released by the company were put out on home media by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment). After releasing 6 films in its lifetime, the company was suddenly shut down in 2010 for unknown reasons (though a likely factor is almost all of their films underperforming).
