Background: Founded by veteran producer/director Allan Fung (馮意清) in 1991, Panorama Entertainment (鐳射娛樂) started up as video distributors, like Mei Ah and Universe, distributing foreign films in VHS and LD, and later moved on to DVD in 1997. Panorama made its fame by securing distribution rights with notable production houses like Canal+, HBO, Penthouse, Playboy and Toei Animation, introducing an array of foreign films to the Hong Kong scene.

1st Logo

Nicknames: "Postman Pat's Cousin", "That Ugly Logo at the End of The British Rock Symphony DVD", "Panorama's Signature Rainbow Colors I"

Logo: On the blue/sky blue gradient background,a silver board contains "PANORAMA" sliding from right angle. Then, "ENTERTAINMENT" zooms out one word by word. Suddenly, a 3D character appears (which somewhat looks like Postman Pat) from the board, sees and points the board, while holding a disc.

FX/SFX: The 3D character.

Cheesy Factor: This is a really ugly logo. The animation itself somehow like it was on an old 3D game.

Music/Sounds: None, or a soft synth choir theme.

Availability: Rare. Can be found on home videos from the company during the era, such as (oddly enough) British Rock Symphony from EagleVision DVD.

Scare Factor: Medium, the ugliness of the logo may not sit well with some people. Decreased for the music variant.

2nd Logo
(1999-2000s)

Nicknames: "Oh, Where, Oh Where Has Postman Pat's Cousin Gone?", "Panorama's Signature Rainbow Colors II"Panorama Entertainment 1999?

Logo: On a black background, several sparklinglights from every direction gathering, forming "PANORAMA". After the forming, the logo explodes in the sparkles, and "PANORAMA" becomes orange. Then, "ENTERTAINMENT" on colorful fonts fades in.

FX/SFX: The gathering, the explode, and the fade in.

Cheesy Factor: The placement of "ENTERTAINMENT" on the logo makes it look like it was added in by a kid.

Music/Sounds: Starts with a horn fanfare (which is very similar to the 1999 Alliance Atlantis Television logo), ends with a relaxing guitar tune, and a quiet piano tune.

Availability: TBA

Scare Factor: Minimal to low. The exploding can startle some, but at least the logo's perhaps relaxing.

3rd Logo
(2000s-)

Panorama Entertainment mid-2000s
Logo: On a white BG, we move right to see 7 colored cubes (red, yellow, orange, green, greenish yellow, blue, and pink, respectively). After we go to the last cube, the 6 previous cubes (now placed vertically) zoom out and place above it, while three orange rectangles with the "p" at the left of them fade in next to the blocks. We zoom out, and the stacked name "PARONAMA ENTERTAINMENT" zooms out below as we do so. The result turns 2D.

FX/SFX: The movement of the camera, zooming out and the fading in of the rest of the logo.

Cheesy Factor: Quite outdated CGI for it's time.

Music/Sounds: A synthesized downtempo theme.

Availability: Still currently used.

Scare Factor: None.
