1st Logo
(1985-1991)
Nickname: "The Stone"

Logo: On a space background, a stone slab spins around in a spiral pattern. When the stone gets close to the screen, "HOME ENTERTAINMENT" in white zooms in and 2 lines and "PREMIERE" in a futuristic font slide in from both sides of the screen. A laser shoots the words and a flash fills up the screen. The flash dies and the logo becomes stone, more lines appear and "HOME ENTERTAINMENT" becomes smaller and it curves on the bottom curve. The logo then zooms out with a residue effect.

Variant: On the beginning of tapes, "SNEAK PREVIEWS FROM OUR MOVIES" in white and stacked zooms in after the logo zooms out.

FX/SFX: The stone turning and flash.

Music/Sounds: A synth space tune throughout the logo with a explosion sound when the flash appears and a mysterious sound when it zooms out.

Availability: Rare. Seen on all Premiere releases from the era, such as The Women In Red, and Return of The Living Dead Part II.

Editor's Note: It's a reasonable 1980's home video logo, although the spinning stone slab looks a little out of place on the space background.

2nd Logo
(1991-1996)

Nickname: "The Stars"

Logo
: On a space background, some stars zoom out as the same logo from before except in a white transparent material fades in and shines. 2 stars zoom out to the logo and a flash is seen. The flash dies down and "COMING SOON" in a futuristic italicized font appears in a clear blue material. Some stars zoom out from behind the text and the text zooms out.

Variant: The closing version does not have the latter part and abruptly fades out just before the flash occurs.

FX/SFX: The stars and flash.

Music/Sounds: Same as before.

Availability: Rare.
Seen on all Premiere releases from the era.

Editor's Note: The abrupt fade out on the closing variant is a bit jarring, but like before, it's a decent looking logo.
