Background: CBS Broadcast International was the second syndication company created by CBS, Inc. Previously, the CBS library was distributed by Viacom Enterprises, a spun-off company from CBS due to fin-syn rules, which only applied in the United States and territories. On August 10, 2004, Viacom, Inc. merged CBS Broadcast International with Paramount International Television to form CBS Paramount International Television (now "CBS Studios International").


1st Logo
(September 27, 1985-1987)

Nickname: "The Lined Globe"

Logo: On a light blue background, the cerulean text "CBS" (in ITC Avant Garde Bold Italic), flies in from the left. When this happens, it leaves a trail behind, which the second one is to be resemble a globe. While the text flies in, we see some black stripes from the top and bottom. Then the white text, "A CBS BROADCAST INTERNATIONAL PRESENTATION" (in same font as "CBS" but in a lighter weight) fades-in.

Variant: A still variant has the text "IN ASSOCIATION WITH" above the logo and the bottom saying "CBS BROADCAST INTERNATIONAL".

FX/SFX: The text "CBS" slide in, and the text fades-in.

Music/Sounds: An arpeggiating 8-note synth tune. In some cases, none.

Availability: Very rare. Seen on some TV movies from the era, like Who is Julia? and Under the Influence. Also was seen on some episodes The (New) Twilight Zone on Chiller, followed by the CBS Television Distribution logo, it's unknown if MeTV airings will retain this due to CTD plastering.

Editor's Note: A nicely done logo with a memorable theme, though it strangely lacks any presence of the "Eyemark" logo.



2nd Logo
(1987-1995)

Nicknames: "The CBS Globe Eye", "CBS Eyemark", "CBS Eyemark Globe"

Logo: On a dark blue background, we see a globe being formed by longitudinal and latitudinal lines, dropping from the top. As it is done forming, it then shines and pans out, as the globe becomes 3D, and we pan out to a sky blue background, with the globe panning out to the CBS Eye logo. The letters "CBS" in the CBS Didot font (which is CBS's proprietary font) appear next to the CBS Eye. Under all that is "CBS BROADCAST INTERNATIONAL" (set in Helvetica Italic).

Variants:

• There is a variation which has "A PRODUCTION OF" or "IN ASSOCIATION WITH" above the logo.
• Sometimes, the logo is still.
• There is a short version where the logo starts when the globe is completely formed. This has only been seen with "IN ASSOCIATION WITH" above the logo.

FX/SFX: The longitude and latitude lines dropping.

Music/Sounds: An inducing synth theme with a low synth note as the latitudinal and longitudinal lines are formed, then a higher synth note as the logo pans out, then another high synth note.

Music/Sounds Variants:

• On some shows, it uses the closing theme of the program.
• A silent version exists.
  

Availability: Rare. Was seen on TV movies from the era. Also appeared on episodes of Rescue 911, the pilot episode of Walker, Texas Ranger on USA Network, Cloo, and WGN America, the final season of The (New) Twilight Zone on MeTV and on Horror in the UK which was seen with the next logo below, as well on '90s international prints of the said show years ago (deleting the Viacom logos from the era). Also seen on the 1st season of Touched by an Angel, as well as some Australian airings of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. The short/silent/IAW variant can be found on a 1995 Hogan's Heroes tape from Columbia House (specifically a four-episode tape entitled "The Great Deceptions").

3rd Logo
(April 30, 1995-2008)

Nicknames: "The CBS Video Logo", "The Eye Globe", "CBS Globe", "CBS Eyemark II", "CBS Eyemark Globe II", "CGI Eyemark"

Logo: On a black background, we see the tail end of the animation from the 1995 CBS Video logo, with the CBS Eye forming and the globe in the center of it still moving. However, instead of rotating into a box, the eye flips from an angle to the center of the screen and the globe does not turn completely silver. The letters "C", "B", and "S" appear one each above the eye to the tune of the music (fashioned like the network's 1992 ID; as in that appearance, the letters are in Helvetica Neue), and then "Broadcast International" in Times New Roman Italic fades in below.

Variants:

• There is a rather cheaply-done widescreen version where the picture is stretched from 4:3 to 16:9, with a lot of blocky artifacts in the background.
• A more professionally-done widescreen version also exists.
  

FX/SFX: Same as the last portion of the 1995 CBS Video logo.

Music/Sounds: The last part of the theme to the 1995 CBS Video logo, beginning with the piano glissando.

Music/Sounds Variants:

• On a French print of The (New) Twilight Zone season 2 episode "Song of the Younger World/"The Girl I Married", this logo has music from the 1st logo due to a poor plaster job.
• On a French print of the TV movie The Wild Wild West Revisited, the logo has music from the 2nd logo from the sloppy plastering.
  

Availability: Seen on TV movies from the era. Can also be seen sometimes on reruns of Everybody Loves Raymond on TBS and most international reruns, and on Netflix prints of said show, along with shows across the globe co-produced by CBS Productions. Was last seen years ago on reruns of Early Edition on i: Independent Television (now Ion Television), and was seen on Horror (UK)'s airings of The (New) Twilight Zone. Up (formerly Gospel Music Channel) kept this logo intact on reruns of Judging Amy when they last aired it. Also can be found on reruns of Rescue 911 on Justice Network. It can also be seen on later seasons of Touched By An Angel on MeTV airings and on a OWN airing of Dr. Phil which was dedicated to the memory of Roger King. This was also seen on 1990s international prints of earlier Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles episodes.
