Background: WIPB is a PBS affiliate located in Muncie, Indiana. It went on the air on October 31, 1971.

1st logo
(1984-1986)

WIPB - CLG WikiNickname: "Stripe Background"

Logo: Against a brown background, we see the letters "WIPB", in a gray CG Omega font, positioned against a rectangle containing five
gold stripes and four silver stripes. Underneath, the white text "Muncie, Indiana", in the Korrina font (the font you see that displays the text of the answers on Jeopardy!, as well as the font used within The Joy of Painting), types in below.

FX/SFX: Apart from the typing in of the "Muncie, Indiana" text, it's really just a still (and quite boring) logo.

Music/Sounds: A three-note descending synthesizer tune that plays four times followed by a very long synth note held down throughout with a synth "whoosh". It sounds like a homage to the WGBH theme. This tune was also used on the WPSX (now WPSU) logo of the '80s.

Availability: Might be seen on old tapes of The Joy of Painting. However, this logo is generally taken out on newer DVD releases and YouTube prints of the show.

Editor's Note: None.

2nd logo
(1986-1994)

Logo: Just a stylized number 49 in red with a silver outline, with WIPB in silver below that and Muncie in the same font underneath. Behind it all is a black/blue gradient background with numerous of the same 49 in black printed all over.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: The last few seconds of"Interlude", the theme song of The Joy of Painting.

Availability: Extinct. Seen on The Joy of Painting's 7th season.

Editor's Note: None.
