Background: Enix was a Japanese company that produced video games, anime and manga. The company was founded in 1975 by Yashuiro Fukushima as Eidansha Boshu Service Center, but then it was renamed Enix in 1982. The company's name is a play between the words "phoenix" and "ENIAC" (the world's first computer). The company is best known for the Dragon Quest series. In 2003, they merged with Square to form Square Enix.

(1990s)

Nicknames: "Enix E", "Big Lowercase e"

Logo: On a black background, we see a big white lowercase "e" fading in, which is rotated to the right a bit. The "e" suddenly turns green, and the word "ENIX" wipes in below it.<embed align="right" allowfullscreen="true" height="207" src="http://wikifoundrytools.com/wiki/closinglogos/widget/youtubevideo/10cf0fd00b69dfdaf6c76ea9c2fa5c20d7a99451" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="252" wmode="transparent"/>

Variant: On Actraiser 2, the whole logo is purple. Also, instead of the "e" just fading in, it cuts in while the word wipes in. After the "e" is formed, it flashes.

FX/SFX: Nothing special; just the logo fading and the word wiping. The cut effect instead of the fading for the Actraiser variant.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Very rare. Most of the releases that contain this logo didn't sell well or are Japanese, so don't expect this to appear on every game on the US. It can be found on some SNES games, including Actraiser 2 and Itadaki Street 2 (released only in Japan).

Editor's Note: None.
