1st Logo
(December 22, 1981-1987)
Fries Distribution Company (1980)
Nickname: "Fries Diamond"

Logo: On a black background, we see some brown-like stripes in diminishing sizes rapidly drawing onto the screen drawing, alternating left to right. They stop about 2/3 of the way. Then,a white Fries logo comes in from the right and stops in the center. "FRIES DISTRIBUTION COMPANY" and the byline "a subsidiary of Fries Entertainment Inc." appear below in red.

FX/SFX: The drawing of the lines and the logo flipping in.

Music/Sounds: A 17 note synth horn; otherwise, it's silent.

Availability: Rare. Found on the TV movies Bill, Insect and Nightstick (AKA Police Force).

Editor's Note: None.

Nicknames: "Fries Diamond II", "Fuchsia Diamond"

Logo: Same as the Fries Entertainment logo, but the bars are stacking slowly with the words "FRIES DISTRIBUTION COMPANY" replacing "Fries Entertainment" by flipping in. The camera also pans from the left side of the bars to the center. The byline "a subsidiary of Fries Entertainment Inc." fades-in below.

Variants:
  • On some shows and TV movies, only the tail end of the logo plays.
  • On some shows and TV movies, the bars are on an opaque gray color.
  • Exists as a short version and a warp-sped version.
  • A filmed version also exists.

FX/SFX
: The segments flying, the logo forming, the words appearing.

Music/Sounds: A triumphant synth-brass fanfare that sounds like a superhero's theme. Otherwise silent or with the ending theme playing over it. Sometimes it has an announcer over the music.

Music/Sounds Variant: On Off the Wall, it uses the second half of the 1986 Gaylord Production Company music.

Availability: Uncommon. Seen on syndie prints of TV movies such as Intimate Betrayal (1987). The video variant can be found on Lamb Chop's Play-Along, Sing-Along, Peacemaker (1990), Demonstone, Friends, Lovers, and Lunatics (The "distribution" variant makes a surprise appearance at the end of the Canadian VHS of that film), and Night Angel.
