Fat Dog Productions

Background: Fat Dog Productions was an erotic film production company and distributor founded in 1990 by Larry Fields who was also the owner of Pipeline Video, an adult distribution company from the 80s and 90s. The company was then sold to Lucky Distributors in January 2005 to continue running the company until 2006 when the company presumably dissolved.

Logo: On a black background, a piece of paper with a weird, colorless picture of a fat sad bulldog on its chest in a ring with the text:

PRODUCTIONS

The text above the ring is in an ark while the text below it is in a box. It shows us just the logo for 18 seconds, until it then cuts to black.

Variant: A short variant exists where we see a blue background with a circle in the center transitioning to the logo but zoomed in to fit the screen.

FX/SFX: None. The transition in the short version.

Music/Sounds: Just some wolves howling, in total six times, during the silence.

Availability: Ultra rare. Can be seen on some older porn VHS tapes.

Editor's Note: The whole logo has a very depressing look to it, and the dog's skin does make it quite phallic-looking. On the other hand, the wolves howling, darkness, and general tone make it quite spooky.

2nd Logo

Nicknames: "The Calm Bulldog", The Not-So-Creepy Dog

Logo: On a black background, a wooden circle with the bulldog from before zooms in to fill the screen. This time, however, the bulldog is colored, with it being yellow and the circle being blue. "FAT DOG Productions" then fades in the top right corner while "PRESENTS" appears in the bottom right, both being in yellow.

Variant: A short variant exists where the logo cuts out after the dog zooms in and the text fades in.

FX/SFX: The screen zooming in and the text appearing.

Music/Sounds: Weird electronic music which is very quiet. In the short variant, it is silent.

Availability: Seen on early VHS porn releases from the time. This may also be seen on DVD re-releases of their films as well.

Editor's Note: Not the most professional, and the music is very quiet, but there's at least color and animation.

Logo: On a blue marble background, we see the bulldog from before except that its position to the right. To the left is "Fat Dog Productions, Inc. Presents", all stacked in Times New Roman.

Variants:

• In the silent variant, the text of the company name has a different font in which is red/green.
• Another variant exists where we see a different theme of the logo with plain yellow text that says "BLACK DOG" and "PRESENTS", with the background being dark green and the dog now being black and is seen wearing a blue cap, golden rings, and a golden necklace/medal.
• Yet another version has some funky beat with the text in Arial and yellow.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: Some jazz music along with what seems to be a dog/wolf growling viciously. Some DVD releases may actually have the logo silent. The Black Dog variant is also silent.

Availability: Very rare. Can be found on later DVD/VHS porn releases. This logo can also be spotted on some porn video websites.
