Background: The people mentioned in the company name are Allen Reid and Mady Land.
1st Logo:
(March 8, 1983-March 25, 1994)
Nicknames: "Another Diagonal Cursive Logo", "The Scribble"
Logo: On a pink-blue gradient background with a lilac purple line in the middle, going horizontally, a dark blue scribble zooms in towards the viewer very quickly. Just when it comes to a stop, the parts of the text "Reid/Land Productions", which is in a rather 50s-esque cursive font called "Airstream" (and with "Reid" in yellow and "Land" in red), fly downward and upward to the center. As with most logos in cursive font (i.e. Celebrity Home Entertainment, Select Video, ALMI Television, KPBS San Diego), it appears diagonally, except for "Productions". The scribble also turns into an outlined rectangle at the end.
FX/SFX: The logo forming, the scribble zooming and turning into a rectangle.
Music/Sounds: The end theme of the show plays in the background as an announcer says, "(show name) is a Reid/Land production."
Availability: Extinct on TV, but it can be found on tapes of TNN's shows, such as the game shows Fandango, Top Card, and 10 Seconds.
Editor's Note: None.
2nd Logo
(1994-1998)
Nickname: "Reid/Land in Space"
Logo: On a space background, we see a gray rectangle with "Reid/Land Productions", this time colored blue, and in Copperplate font, with a red line between "Reid/Land" and "Productions". The logo turns about 90 degrees until it gets into a 20th Century Fox-esque position (except in the opposite direction), and the logo sends off flashes.
FX/SFX: The logo turning and the flashes.
Music/Sounds: See the previous logo.
Availability: Might turn up on TNN shows from this era. Also appeared on Great American Desserts, followed by the 1993 KPBS logo, and the 1990s American Public Television logo.
Editor's Note: None.
