Background: Rede Gazeta was founded in 1970 in Sao Paulo. It was one of the first Brazilian channels to broadcast in color along with the other main Brazilian channels. In 1993 it merged with CNT and was made into a partnership called CNT/Gazeta, which would last until 2000.
