Nickname: "The Octagon"

Logo: In a black background, we can see a white octagon. Inside the octagon, we see the letters "SF".

Variants:
  • There is an opening version, which usually have the words "esittää/förevisar". This is called the presents variant. There is a special version on some short films, where it shows "esittää lyhytkuvan".
  • Sometimes, the logo zooms in, and stops after a few seconds. The speed of the zooming is random.
  • Rarely, the logo zooms in but never stops. This fades out while it is zooming. The speed of the zooming is random.
  • Sometimes, the letters flop, showing the letters for a second, then flops out. This variant is seen on Pekka Puupää.
FX/SFX: None. The variants have zooming or flopping effects.

Music/Sounds: The opening/closing theme of the movie or none.

Availability: Common. It has been spotted on many movies and short films, including Tuntematon Sotilas, Komisario Palmun erehdysand Seitsemän Veljestä. The logo has been left intact on the DVD release of the latter. TV airings have also left the logo intact, along with restorations of movies from over the years. The best way to find this logo is from YLE's TV channels and their streaming service, Yle Areena.

Editor's Note: None.
