Background: Sham Ralhan Productions was an Indian film company founded in the 1980's by director and producer Sham Ralhan. The company released only one movie: Shoorveer, in 1988.
(May 20, 1988)
Nickname: "The Combination of Manish Films, Balakrishna Movies and Murghan Enterprises", "The Dark Combination"
Logo: On a dark background, we see two candles and the silhouette of a statue, all over a table with a white blanket. Behind the table, we see orange smoke. Then, some lights are turned up, revealing that the silhouette is Durga (with a row of orange flowers) riding a tiger. Below the tiger there are three orange flowers, and around the right candle there are some vegetables. Then, the logo freezes, and Durga throws a beam to the screen (a la Balakrishna Movies) to form "SHAM RALHAN" when it disappears. The text is below the row of flowers. Then, below the mentioned text, "PRODUCTIONS" appears in a blur effect left-to-right.
FX/SFX: The orange smoke, the lights turning on, Durga throwing the beam when the logo freezes and the texts.
Music/Sounds: A tanpura note, followed by an Indian choral tune until the logo freezes (a fragment of this music would be used by Manish Films in 1989, and later by some other Indian companies during the 1990s). Then, a strum with a lyra when Durga throws the beam. Finally, a six-note dramatic fanfare, the first and the last notes being longer (another stock fanfare). On the sixth note, there's also a hit of a crash cymbal.
Availability: See Background.
Editor's Note: None.
