Logo descriptions and captures by EnormousRat
Background: Gray Matter Studios was a company formed on the remains of Xatrix, with most of the original developers team. It made two games and was picked up by Activision in 2002, and ultimately merged into Treyarch in 2005. Their last game, Call of Duty: Big Red One, was released under the Treyarch brand. This company is not to be confused with Gray Matter Design or LTI Gray Matter.
1st Logo
(2001)
Logo: There is a round frame with the picture of human brain from upward. The name is right to it, reading "gray" and "matter" below, and "STUDIOS" under it. It also has "and developed by" words above, pointing to the fact this logo actually comes after other logos.
FX/SFX: There is raining at background.
Music/Sounds: Intro theme of the game.
Availability: Seen on Return to Castle Wolfenstein.
Editor's Note: None.
2nd Logo
(2004)
Logo: We see parts of the brain zooming to the light spot at the screen, while it flickers and shows noise. Then the brain image flashes and the name appears, reading same as before. Then the logo crashes.
FX/SFX: Animation in the logo.
Music/Sounds: "whoo" sounds of the flying parts, flickering and other noise.
Availability: Seen on Call of Duty: United Offensive.
Editor's Note: None.
