1st Logo
(June 10, 1997-November 5, 1998)

Logo: On a yellow background, we see the HBO logo with a red ball inside the "O" and the word "FAMILY" in a purple square with static covering parts of the square. Suddenly, a yellow dog appears and blinks his eyes, before the square turns around to reveal the logo again.
Variants:
FX/SFX: 2D animation by Steven Dovas.
Music/Sounds: A short piano tune, along with the dog grunting and barking.
Availability: Extinct. Was seen on episodes 13-26 of Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales for Every Child. However, later airings have this replaced with the HBO Entertainment logo. The fly variant was seen on HBO Family airings of Babar, while the space variant was seen on The Adventures of Tintin.
Scare Factor: Medium. The dog looks kind of creepy, and it may turn off some.
2nd Logo
(November 5, 1998- 2003)
Logo: We see the HBO Original Programming logo animated as usual, with the word "Family" under it, in Triplex Sans, between HBO and other words. There is a yellow arc above the word
"Family".
Variant: On the El Perro y El Gato short "Juntos de Nuevo: Together Again", there is no static in the logo, and "ORIGINAL PROGRAMMING" is replaced with a copyright stamp.
FX/SFX: Same as the standard HBO logo.
Music/Sounds: Same as the standard HBO logo.
Availability: Uncommon. Seen on family and kid-intended shows like Harold and the Purple Crayon, A Little Curious, I Spy, and Crashbox. Also appears on HBO Family specials as well.
Scare Factor: Minimal.

- A space background with a orange, and a green planet, the HBO Family logo files from the bottom, a 3-eyed purple ailen appears from the "O", winks at us, then waving at us, then gets sucked by a flying saucer.
- The HBO Family logo, a purple dog with a red-striped bone in his mouth saying "HAPPY HOLIDAYS", then inside a red square reading "HAPPY HOLIDAYS" instead of the HBO Family logo.
