1st (known) Logo
(1996-1998)

Logo: On a white background, we see a purple lightning bolt where the inside of it changes patterns. The word "LIGHTSPAN" is on the bottom. The bolt then flies off and the background changes to sky blue. The bolt then flies to the left, then to the right, and then stops in the middle, and spins in a loop. Then a black line appears as the bolt then flies into it. The background then changes to orange and a disc rises out. The bolt then bounces around with puddle effects, and then flies off to the right, transitioning to black.

FX/SFX: The bolt.

Music/Sounds: A rumble sound when the logo is shown, along with several cartoon sounds.

Availability: Uncommon. Seen on several games made by Lightspan. Examples include the first three K9.5 games, Live in Airedale, We Are the Dogs!, and WebTunes.

The bolt then spins as well and flies off the disc transitioning to black.

FX/SFX: The bolt.

Music/Sounds: A rumble sound when the logo is shown, along with several cartoon sounds.
