Logo descriptions and compiled byKylejaker1988

Background:Lucerne Media was a educational film and video production company active throughout the 1980s and early 1990s.
Opening Logo
(early 1980s-early 1990s)

Logo:On a black background, we see a purple square in the center of the screen. The square turns into a countdown leader starting with the number 5 as little white squares or "sprocket holes" start to run down on the left and right sides of the square, making it look like a running filmstrip. The square changes to green as 4 appears and then yellow when the number 3 appears. When the square turns yellow, it transforms into a TV tube shape with a color test pattern and the sprocket holes disappear. A light dings from the top left and the tube turns burgundy with thin white vertical lines. It eventually morphs into the stylized letters "LM". Another light ding appears and turns into a yellow star on the top left corner of the letters. The blue words "A LUCERNE MEDIA" appears above and "PRESENTATION" below.

SFX:The sprocket holes, the light dings, etc.

Music/Sounds:Begins with an ominous synth drone mixed with a series of synth piano keyboard notes, and a deep stinger when the words appear.

Availability: Appears on various educational films and cartoons issued on VHS throughout the '80s and early '90s.

Editor's Note: Passable 1980s animation.
