Background: Rosebud Releasing Corporation was a distribution company that only released one film, Evil Dead II, made by De Laurentiis Entertainment Group. Some sources believe that Rosebud might have been a shell corporation created by De Laurentiis solely to release it unrated after the Motion Picture Association of America classified it with an "X" (Now NC-17) rating.
(March 13, 1987)
Logo: We see a live action time lapse shot of a blooming yellow flower. The word "ROSEBUD" appears in an arch at the top of the screen and "RELEASING CORPORATION" is seen at the bottom.
Trivia: The logo was designed by Sam Raimi, director of the Evil Dead trilogy.
FX/SFX: Time lapse live action.
Music/Sounds: None, but at the end of the film, a buzzing sound is heard.
Music/Sounds Trivia: The buzzing sound was lifted from the first Evil Dead film.
Availability: Only seen on Evil Dead II.
Editor's Note: None.
