Logo descriptions by SnowflakesOmega

Background: Saudi TV Channel 2, Saudi 2 or KSA2 (as known currently) is the secondary main channel of the Saudi Arabian government. Unlike Al Saudiya, which centres on Arabic-language shows, the channel mostly broadcasts in English. Following it's conversion to a 24-hour format in 2007 it also has transmitted in European and North American territory.

1st Logo
(1983-1984?)

Logo: TBA

FX/SFX: The zooming 2's and the changing background color.

Music/Sounds: Unknown.

Availability: Extinct. Was used as a 4th (?) anniversary ident.

Editor's Note: None.

2nd Logo
(1984?-198?)

Nicknames: "The Arab Equivalent of Doordarshan's 70s Ident", "The Rise of the Two"

Logo: We see a 3D model of the planet Earth zoom down very slowly. Once the bottom half of the screen is covered with the top of the Earth, a light blue "2" (which is bright once it starts to rise) rises behind the planet and the latter moves down. The 2 moves to the centre and the company's name "SAUDI ARABIAN TELEVISION" fades in below the logo.

FX/SFX: 3D Animation.

Music/Sounds: A dissonant-sounding brass orchestral theme.

Availability: Extinct. Would have been used on startups from the channel at the time.

Editor's Note: With all the basic 3D animation it's not that bad for an Arab logo, but the way it all moves slowly makes it somewhat unsettling. The music also tries to be avant-garde while still having a majestic touch into it but it also fails.

3rd Logo
(198?-1990s)

Logo: TBA

FX/SFX: The bars forming the segmented "2", which seems generic for a CGI 80s logo concept.

Music/Sounds: TBA

Availability: Extinct.

Editor's Note: None.
