Columbia Pictures later acquired Spelling-Goldberg on May 17, 1982 and later operated as a division of Columbia Pictures Television. It was closed in 1986 after T.J. Hooker got canceled. Today, all of the Spelling/Goldberg library is handled and distributed by Sony Pictures Television, who also was the co-producer of a fraction of the library (as Columbia Pictures Television).
