1st (known) Logo
(1981-1983?)

Logo: In an active starfield, small 5-point stars zoom out. More and more stars zoom into place to form the letters of the words "SUNSET VIDEO". Once the stars form each letter, a solid white border appears around it. When the name is formed, it lights up with red, white and blue lines. Little stars flash around the name until the logo fades out.

FX/SFX: The starfield and stars zooming out.

Music/Sounds: A disco/classical piece that starts on the warning screen.

Availability: Sunset Video distributed French dubs of B-movies. Here's a (nearly) completed list of their catalog.

2nd Logo
(1983?-1988?)

Logo: A blue, four pointed star zooms towards us and then zooms up. Another blue star in the center appears. The two edges expand horizontally to make an electricity bolt. The bolt moves to the left of the screen and morphs into a large glowing "S". The glow fades and the letters of "-unset" (in a smaller size) zoom out one at a time, leaving a trail. The word "SUNSET" flashes blue. Three 4-pointed stars appear and disappear around the name. Then, a hollowed red rectangle zooms out and trails. The rectangle turns to our left before it stops and lets the trail catch up. The rectangle zooms back in and positions itself around "SUNSET", slanted upwards. The word "VIDEO" is wiped in the rectangle below "SUNSET". The whole name turns bright red and a white line is drawn in and around the rectangle. The inside of the rectangle turns blue and a 5-point star zooms in and places itself in the rectangle.

FX/SFX: Pretty much everything.

Music/Sounds: An excerpt of the French pop song "Une Autre Histoire" (Another Story) by Gerard Blanc, which also starts on the warning screen.

Availability: Same as above.
